Gregor completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Edinburgh, hopping back and forth between there and London where he joined Apt in 2019 for his Part I year out, then again for a summer position between postgraduate years and finally in 2022 as a Part II.
Originally hailing from rural Perthshire, Gregor stayed true to form in his choice to take the scenic route towards the goal of becoming an architect, spending 2 years studying Architectural Technology prior to starting his degree and taking some summer months to experience on-site work with a local joinery firm. He also enjoyed a 6-month work placement for a large architecture firm in Hamburg, Germany where he was part of an international competitions design team.
During his studies, Gregor’s degree projects ranged from rural island self-build programmes to a highly theoretical thesis which explored the impact creative arts can have on the climate emergency.
Beyond the office, Gregor enjoys camping and hillwalking, preferably combined with a long road trip and a small army of dogs. He is also enjoying the chance to take advantage of post-lockdown life in London, engaging with the creative environment in which Apt is based and the seemingly endless list of cultural events.
