Apt is pleased to welcome its first two Level 6 Architectural Apprentices, Angel Allan, and Holly McLean, who recently joined the studio to begin their architectural careers.

The new Level 6 Architecture Apprenticeship, a first for Apt, will enable our new apprentices to achieve RIBA Part 1 while also working in practice. This approach provides paid, fully funded work experience and academic training, alongside benefitting from the expertise and mentoring that Apt can provide. Angel and Holly are both undertaking their studies at London South Bank University.

Studio leader, Jason Geen, explains the importance of the new initiative for the studio. “We are thrilled to welcome Angel and Holly to the Apt family. This is an exciting time for the studio and reinforces our commitment to developing our workplace culture, talent pipeline and supporting inclusion in the industry. By removing the prohibitive costs associated with architectural training, we are creating a much more open, inclusive and diverse route into the industry.”

I am extremely grateful that Apt has given me this opportunity because this apprenticeship will allow me to work and learn from professionals. I will also gain valuable experience during my time working here. At the end of this apprenticeship, I will have a degree, job and no student debt.”

I couldn’t be more excited to embark on my journey to become an architect as an apprentice with Apt and LSBU. The prospect of gaining valuable experience on the job with such a creative practice, whilst pursuing architectural education, was an unrivalled opportunity for me and is an exciting progression for the future of architecture training.”
