Last Thursday(12/03/26) marked the opening of Zero to Infinity by Rasheed Araeen, presented as part of Apts Making Space II programme. Conceived in 1968 and first shown at the Tate Modern in 2004, the work has since been exhibited internationally on many occasions.
Beginning in a “zero” state of static energy, the work is, on this occasion, arranged as a grid of coloured open cubes, each 50 × 50 cm, laid on the floor. This order was immediately broken by the activity of those attending last Thursday’s opening and will continue to shift and evolve as Apt staff live with the work over the next two months.
For clients and consultants working with us who were unable to attend on Thursday, please do come and have a play. The work actively invites participation; cubes can be moved around, lifted off the floor, stacked, and rearranged towards an infinity of possible configurations. So please come by, get involved, and have some fun with it!
